3 Key Steps to Staying Fair and Impartial when Investigating Claims of Harassment
May 07, 2018
When an employee complains about about sexual harassment or any other forms of mistreatment, managers need to follow three steps.
First, as soon as possible let HR know about the complaint to make sure employer policies and procedures are being followed to address the complaint without delay. Second, working with HR, gather and record all relevant evidence, including statements from the accused, the accuser, and any witnesses. Third, if the charges have been supported by the evidence gathered, set appropriate discipline according to policies and circumstances, such as repeat offenses and the severity of the offense.
