New Year, New Sick Leave Entitlements

With the beginning of the New Year and employee leave accruals resetting, employers must be mindful of the continually-evolving laws governing employees’ use of, and entitlement to, leave time in the jurisdictions where they conduct business. 12 states and many localities have passed sick leave laws. Employers must ensure that their policies and procedures have been updated in order to comply with these new and rapidly-emerging requirements. We recommend all employers have their Employee Handbook reviewed on an annual basis by SESCO to ensure compliance.
